BerlinProject at Central Saint Martins
A typography unit in which I created a conceptual set of instructions, enabling the viewer to draw the ‘y’ of DIN 1451, without seeing the typeface itself. I used a 1930s feel, mimicking the time in which the typeface was defined by the German Standards Body for sign use. A three-step process ‘directs’ the audience towards Berlin’s ‘Deutsches Institut für Normung’, where the lettering was formed.
